During a divorce the focus is most often on the couple that is splitting up or any small children they may have. Older or adult children can be overlooked and often become the confidants and support systems for their divorcing parents. The truth is that having family split apart is painful at any age and being expected to be a rock for your parent(s) while not having support or space to process this change in family dynamic can be traumatic.
